Every webmix has the choice of being shared publicly or privately or not shared at all. For the webmixes you may have already posted and now want to make more private go to the share icon for the "share" menu dropdown on the left, then go to "webmix details", click on "share privately with friends", and then "share my webmix". It will list the link and embed code, but you need not ever give this to anyone. Make sure that you have not connected any tiles that you share with students to these webmixes that you want to keep private. Students should not be on your login. If they have their own accounts (must be 13), they will not see your tabs. if you are embedding a webmix that is not linked to another webmix, the students will not see your tabs, only the webmix that is embedded. If you show the webmix to the class and your tabs show at the top, just be sure to supervise the activity in the class so that they do not go to your other webmixes. Here is an example that shows that the embedded webmix is active but does not show the tabs or other tiles for web creation http://www.symbalooedu.com/pdpro/ If you have students under 13, consider getting the Premium version which gives you more privacy controls and is only $25 per teacher or $100 for a campus.

What browser are you using? Have you completed all updates? Mine loads fast, but maybe not as fast as something much simpler. Realize that you are not only refreshing or loading a single website, but all of the links and visuals, so it is much like a large picture file that takes a bit longer than a small picture file to load. I prefer that as much as possible be on their server and not local so that my personal memory is preserved..

I tend to agree with kebolen that responding to these posts is not a huge time investment for a company (you could even have standard answers to cut and paste for repeat questions) and as a PR boost would help the many people (often newbies) who are reading these posts as a way to try to solve their problems. While many people confuse asking for help and posting on a blog discussion, there is a general assumption for both that there will be a response. Because I have used Symbaloo for a while, and I was equally frustrated when I first started with a need for support, I have commented on some of these posts today. I feel your pain kebolen! Perhaps Symbaloo, if unable to assist due to staffing issues, could offer points toward swag for those with certifications who assist with online questions in the form of a Symbaloo Chat line on this help page?

When I get too many on any one webmix, I just link to a different one and regroup them. Here is a video of how to connect one webmix to another https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuP_HFVcUlw. This is one of my favorite features in Symbaloo. For an example of a landing page that I have created with links to webmixes, http://edu.symbaloo.com/mix/dulaneygt where most of the tiles take you to other webmixes, not just websites. If you are simply wanting to change the size of your webmix in the options menu this is explained in the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q808RwObob8 Hope this helps.

My vote is for the undo button alone. I understand the reason for the center and use widgets often. I especially like to take notes in the middle. I rarely use the center for google searches, but realize that this is more about funding and if it means that Symbaloo remains free, this is a small discomfort for all that Symbaloo offers.

Here is a video I fond about embedding. http://www.screenr.com/hSRs If you follow these steps and it still shows as a white box, then email Symbaloo for help (right hand side of FAQ page). They get back to you in a few days. If you are an educator, join the Symbaloo group on Edmodo for something akin to a chat room about Symbaloo. For general public, try chatting on Twitter at https://twitter.com/Symbaloo (made need to use Google Translate too, as many are talking in other languages other than English). Make sure that you are using the embed code and not the link or url.

You should already be able to do this. Check with support about why this is happening to you. I sometimes have problems with the mobility of tiles when I am in a browser other than Chrome or also when i am on a computer that has not had all of its updates completed recently. Try turning off your computer and browser and see if a hard reboot helps.

You can add widgets now. If you search for widgets in the tiles search area you can use those as tiles and when you click on that tile it goes into the center. click on a different widget and the new widget repaces the old one. If you have widgets of your own, just add them as tiles. Here is a Youtube video about adding widgets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lZ_TI_L4OU

I think that if Symbaloo just increased the "hover time" for this feature, it would become less of an annoyance. I think that it is a nice feature, but it happens too quickly when you are moving tiles around and if they were to either add another step to confirm that this is what you really want to do and/or add more time in before it becomes a group, there wouldn't be the need to disable it.
